The Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) is a federal law aimed at addressing money laundering and organized crime.  The statute allows both prosecution and civil penalties for racketeering activity performed as part of an ongoing criminal enterprise, and applies to crimes including slavery and human trafficking.
