Child labour

Item I of this decree approves the List of the Worst Forms of Child Labour, and prohibits the employment of children under 18 years of age in the activities described in the aforementioned list.

Notes

Ordinance No. 88, of April 28 2009 established that for the purposes of Art. 405, part I, of the Labour Code, the establishments and services described in item I of Decree No. 6481—the list of the worst forms of child labour—will be considered dangerous or insalubrious, and the employment of children under 18 years of age in such establishments or services will be prohibited.

This decree regulates art. 3 and 4 of ILO Convention 182 on the prohibition of the worst forms of child labour and immediate action for its erradication, approved by Legislative Decree No. 178 of December 14, 1999 and promulgated by Decree No. 3.597, of September 12, 2000.
