Compensation Health and safety Social protection

These provisions establish that compensation must be paid to workers in the event of injury or death. If an employee dies on the job, the Proprietor must give compensation to the family of the deceased equivalent to three years on the job. In case of injury that leads to disability, a lump sum equivalent to the employee’s wages of five years must be paid by the Proprietor.

Rules /Nepal / Labour Rules, 1993

This mechanism was enacted in exercise of the powers conferred upon the Government by Section 86 of the Labour Act, 1992 and with the purpose of implementing the objectives of the Act.  The Rules include provisions regarding the regulations the composition and process for establishing  labour committees, as well as provisions regarding the security of workers, remuneration, welfare and health and safety.
